STATUS OF THE GILBERT ISLANDS

From 10.11.1915 until 31.12.1948, the Gilbert and Ellice Islands Colony was within the British Crown Dominions.

From 01.10.1975 to 11.07.1979, the Ellice Group detached and the remaining Kiribati islands (then known as the Gilbert Islands) were part of the UK and Colonies.
