South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands - Passport & Nationality - British Nationality
British Nationality could be obtained through your birth, or through the birth of any one of your parents or grandparents, in South Georgia and the Sandwich Islands. This arises because of Britain's relationship with South Georgia and Britain's Colonial history.

STATUS OF SOUTH GEORGIA AND SOUTH SANDWICH ISLANDS
The Falkland Islands include the South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands.
Up to 31.12.1948, these islands were within the Crown's Dominions. Between 01.01.1949 and 02.03.1962, the islands were within the UK and Colonies. From 03.03.1962 until 31.12.1982, they remained with the UK and Colonies, but with South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands becoming Dependencies. After 01.01.1983 until the present day, the islands are classified as a British Dependent Territory.
Argentina dispute sovereignty over these islands, an issue that precipitated the Falklands War.
