United Kingdom - Passport & Nationality - British Citizenship (British Overseas Territory Colony)
A claim to British citizenship could be possible in the following rare set of circumstances where:
- an applicant was born before 1983;
- the applicant's father was born in a former British Colony before its independence; AND
- the applicant's paternal grandfather (i.e. their father's father) born in a former British Overseas Territory.
While other criteria apply, it also requires the applicant to have not suffered from any Automatic Loss provisions enacted upon the independence of the relevant British Colony.
